December 2008 - Compound Photonics Announces Move to New Corporate Headquarters
Relocation Due to Continued Growth and Expansion
Compound Photonics, a major innovator in the microdisplay industry is moving its corporate headquarters effective Monday, January 19, 2009. The company remains in the greater Phoenix area. The new address is 1110 North 52nd Street, Phoenix, AZ 85008. All phone numbers remain the same – the main phone number is (602) 389-8700.
The continued growth of the company and the anticipated commence of production made the move necessary. The new site comprises of three buildings and is part of the ON Semiconductor campus in Phoenix, AZ. There is a total of 270,000 square feet available.
The main building has 35,000 square feet capable of class 1 clean room manufacturing area, 35,000 square feet of additional floor space and 60,000 square feet of office and support areas.
The central plant building contains four (4) 700 ton chillers and two (2) 460 ton glycol chillers. There are two (2) 600 HP hot water boilers used for heating, a DI water plant as well as additional equipment necessary for the support of the production building.
The site electrical distribution is fed from Salt River Project's 69kV distribution. The distribution system is a loop feed through the Pico Substation located on the site. The Pico Substation is comprised of redundant 56MVA transformers, one of which feeds the south half of the site.
The primary selective distribution system through AE Building is comprised of 8+ transformers ranging from 2000kVA to 2500kVA for a total exceeding 10 MVA of capacity with n+ 1 redundancy. The secondary distribution voltage is a combination of 480, 208 and 4160 volt units available for large HVAC equipment. Most of the total capacity available throughout the building is secondary selective.
In addition, emergency power is available through a I250kW diesel generator. The emergency power distribution system for lighting and life safety equipment is available through the building.
The building has a Yokogawa uXL BUilding Automation System (BAS). Operating Distributed Control Panels are located throughout the building. The system has capacity for expansion. There are communications hubs located in three places throughout the building.
There is a network of low power radio and Motorola two way paging antennae and cabling routed throughout the building.
By moving to such a world class facility, Compound Photonics now has the necessary resources with enough growth potential to ensure a smooth and uninterrupted transition to production.
